Frosting for Red Velvet Cupcakes

TIME TO MAKE THE FROSTING!

We’ve got options here! These are my two favorite cream cheese frosting recipes for Red Velvet Cupcakes! We’ve got regular and chocolate! Truth be told, this recipe for chocolate cream cheese frosting is hands down my favorite frosting recipe (pretty much EVER)!

Cream Cheese frosting: 4 tablespoons of butter (softened), 6 ounces of cream cheese (softened), 4 cups powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla. Cream together butter and cream cheese; add in sifted powder sugar, salt, and vanilla. And beat until well combined. Add food coloring for fun colors and top with candies and sprinkles. Note: When piping frosting, it is best to double the recipe.

(THE BEST) Chocolate Cream Cheese frosting: 8oz softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup softened butter, 3 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla. Cream together butter and cream cheese; add in sifted powdered sugar and cocoa. Add salt and vanilla. Top with candies and sprinkles. Note: When piping frosting, it is best to double the recipe.
